My organization needs an app. How do we get started?
Set up a 30-minute consultation to go over your needs and to make sure we are a fit
Explore how you would like your app to be accessed (Apple Store, Google Play Store, and/or Progressive Web App)
Decide if you would like to handle the backend of adding content (articles, videos, photos, podcasts, events) to the app through our user-friendly portal or have Hello App manage that aspect for you
What is a PWA (Progressive Web App)?
PWA is a web application designed to work optimally on any device: mobile, tablet and desktop. Access to your PWA is from any web browser, from a simple URL. Progressive Web Apps offer advanced features such as offline mode or push notifications. Instructions will popup and guide your app user on how to save the PWA to their home screen.
How much will a custom app cost?
Hello App offers four packages to build the initial application, a monthly hosting fee, and three tiers of service:
Package 1 ($): Basic PWA (normally for an event or conference).
Package 2 ($$): Advanced PWA (member log-in area, push notifications, beacons, geofencing, user groups, chat function, connecting Squarespace blog to app, the option to add adds from sponsors)
Package 3 ($$$): Advanced PWA and hosted app in the Google Play Store
Package 4 ($$$$): Advanced PWA, hosted app in the Google Play Store, and hosted app in the Apple App Store.
The Monthly hosting fee covers server space, 200 GB of storage, and is priced as follows:
Basic PWA: $35 per month
Advanced PWA: $55 per month
Advanced PWA and Google Play App: $75 per month
Advanced PWA, Google Play App, and Apple Store App: $150 per month
After your app is built and all connections are set up you have a few options for app maintenance:
Tier One (Free to $$$): You maintain the content of the app (articles, videos, photos, podcasts, events) using a custom portal log-in. You can request certain design updates and content assistance at an hourly rate that will be specified in your contract.
Tier Two ($): You maintain the content of the app with availability for guidance; includes three hours of consultation that can be used for a monthly review, guidance or assistance, and updates to the design.
Tier Four ($$S): Hello App maintains content of the app for you. You have access to the app via a custom portal login. Includes once weekly content updates and up to three hours of design updates a month.
How long do custom apps take to make?
A simple PWA can be built by Hello App in a few hours and will need 24 to 48 hours for a custom url and domain set up to be activated. A more advanced PWA will need more time to be built. And more advanced applications will need a few weeks before they can be deployed and approved to be available for download in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
